So everyone knows that friendship bracelets were a big trend this summer (I sold A LOT of them on Etsy), but another great trend was neon jewelry. Sighhhhh.
After seeing Christian Siriano's collection during NYFW, I fell in love with the trend all over again. Bright colors with neutral tones, a perfect color scheme to wear during the fall and into winter.
So here's what you'll need:
-Jeweled necklace (mine was bought at Forever 21 for $6.00)
-Clean Metal Primer (1st coat)
-Spray paint color of your choice (2nd coat)
-Clear enamel top coat (3rd, final coat)
My advice to anyone trying this DIY is to spray in light, thin coats and wait for them to completely dry (not for the impatient). The metal primer, when thick, doesn't dry all the way. It remains tacky and is hard to cover up with the color paint.

Apologies for the lack of photo quality. The final result was exactly what I wanted though. I can't wait to pair the necklace with boyfriend jeans and a simple white tee, or with a floral maxi dress like I'm wearing in the pics above.
